Which desktop CNC fits a full sheet of plywood?
The machines whose work area covers a 4 × 8, 4 × 4, 2 × 4 or 2 × 2 foot sheet, from the makers' published figures.
A lot of hobby projects start with a sheet of plywood or MDF, so a useful question about any CNC is how much of a sheet it can reach. Wikipedia's plywood article says "The sizes of the most commonly used plywood sheets are 4 by 8 feet (1,220 mm × 2,440 mm)". This guide sorts the machines on this site by the largest standard sheet size their published work area covers.

25 machines have a work area smaller than 2 × 2 feet.
How this is worked out
A machine counts for a size if both sides of its published X × Y work area are at least as big as the sheet, either way round, allowing 5 mm for rounding when makers convert between inches and millimetres. Covering the sheet isn't the same as cutting parts right to its edges: the bit has a diameter, and the sheet has to be held down somewhere. Some machines that are shorter than a sheet can still cut a long piece in sections; that depends on the machine and isn't covered here.
